Last Call For the Aramark Picnic


The Annual Aramark Cookout is Friday, May 20th and RSVPs and the lunch form are due tomorrow, Monday, May 16th.

What to expect:
  • For Full-Day K, Grade 1 and Grade 2 students (AM & PM Kindergarten students will have their own special lunch planned - details to come!)
  • Parents are asked to be aware of all parking protocols: Additional parking is available in back of the school
  • Parents will check in at tables in the foyer and then meet their child at the designated tables in the cafeteria. Please arrive 10 minutes early for check in.
  • You will be eating outside so please bring a blanket or sheet to sit on.
  • Please notify the office to request a scholarship for parents to attend.
  • Make checks payable to Aramark.
The schedule:
  • FULL-DAY K: 11:00-11:30 - Lunch / 11:30-12:00 Recess on K playground
  • GRADE 1: 11:30-12:15 - Lunch followed by recess
  • GRADE 2: 12:30-1:15 - ALunch followed by recess
Please keep in mind that this will be a student only event in the case of inclement weather.

Save the Date: Aramark Family Cookout



The annual Aramark Cookout will be Friday, May 20th (please note that in case of rain, it will be a student only event) during your child's scheduled lunch period (see below for exact times).

Each student meal is $2.25 and every guest meal is $3.00 and there's a choice of hamburger, cheeseburger, not dog or veggie burger. You can download a registration form below or HERE (they'll also go home in backpacks this week). Please return them by Monday, May 16th.

Full day K: 11-11:30 - Lunch / 11:30-12:00 Recess @ K playground
Grade 1: 11:30-12:15 - Lunch followed by recess
Grade 2: 12:30-1:15 - Lunch followed by recess

Note: Parents will check in at tables in the foyer, then meet their child at the teacher designated tables in the cafeteria. This is an outdoor event so please bring a blanket/sheet to sit on.

Half-day K students will have a special separate lunch. Details to come...

SIT Subcommittees for 2015-2016

With the new school year approaching, we invite you to join one of the School Improvement Subcommittes or SIT. These groups of teachers and parents work together to tackle pressing needs in the Frenchtown Community.

This year's subcommittees are:

1. WELLNESS - SIT Liaison: Bonnie Brayton-Simmons
Purpose: What can we do to improve support for social and emotional needs?

Members: Tim Dwyer, Kristine MacLeod, Rita McHoff, Judi Cavanaugh

Ideas: Walking club, Picnic tables and board games at recess?

2. PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT - SIT Liaison: Deb Morasco
Purpose: How do we ensure that suitable opportunities exist for all families? How are we recognizing and honoring the contributions of each family and their support of our school? How do we fully engage those parents who are working outside the home? How can we engage each family y in meaningful ways? Is there interest  in reinstating monthly Principal Coffee Hours? Is there a need to coordinate with community agencies for support for families?

Members: Michele Rinn, Cindy Kendall

Ideas: Fun Friday, Volunteer Pool Survey, Sign Up, Transition Night, Explore Blue Robbin Schools Best Practices

3. HOSPITALITY - SIT Liaison: TBD
Purpose: How do we balance the need for security while providing a more open atmosphere for families? How can we meet the news of new families entering our community of learners? What information needs to be available for distribution?

Members: TBD

Ideas: Video spotlight of teaching, video tour of school, handbook, Explore Blue Robbin Schools Best Practices, A recommendations as made to establish "Parent Liaisons" to assist with school tours when Mrs. Vaughn's schedule doesn't allow her to do them

4. ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE - SIT Liaison: Michele Rinn
Purpose: What does best practice look like at Frenchtown? What is our current reality? How do we know students are learning? How do we respond when they perform above expectations? What re the opportunities and practices present at other schools in EG? How are we communicating these practices with all stakeholders? What opportunities exist for continued improvement?

Members: Judy Greenberg, Donna Hayes

Ideas: Bulletin board displays, Parent guest speakers/presenters, Explore Blue Robbin Schools Best Practices

5. PARTNERSHIP WITH PTG - SIT Liaison: TBD
Purpose: In what ways can PTG and school initiatives become more fully aligned?

Members: Judy Greenberg, Kristine MacLeod

Ideas: Welcome Back to School, Forums with the Principal & PTG, Explore Blue Robbin Schools Best Practices
